I have a fascination for watching metal breakdown and melt into a pool of metallic lava. So many color variations, all with true earth tones. In this piece, I took every type of native and noble metal color I could find, layered them into a funnel and slowly drug it around the canvas, releasing subtle amounts of the metallic hues along the way. A little tilt and stretch, and the cells do their magic—colors coming from underneath as the paint flattens, creating little rings of inner pockets. This is “Melted Metals”.
